You can't ignore crazy. There was a time when the prevailing thought was you don't acknowledge insanity from the right wing because you don't want to platform the crazy. But if you just ignore it it just festers and becomes much worse.

There used to be this sort of strategy of like if we don't acknowledge it won't have the oxygen to get out there. but the fact of the matter is it's like it's out there. and if you're going to allow the right to get full value out of the insanity they're spewing you must then use that to mitigate the value they're getting out of it. Does that make sense? What I'm saying is that like you cannot let it happen. I get the theory that if we don't give this any attention then it can't multiply. but we don't live in that world anymore. that world where you know the sort of like you can ignore something and it can't Garner its own strength and momentum on its own. because you have social media you have right-wing media it's gonna get out there. That was the attitude that people had toward Rush Limbaugh.
