I met Vicki on the A Train yesterday. She had never been on public assistance, and then Hurricane Sandy took everything from she and her 9 year old daughter and made her homeless.

Now she is a victim, being and being victimized twice by the system. She's been thrown into a homeless shelter when she should have been put into the hotel program. Shame on all of them. She is left to beg for money on the subways to feed she and her 9 year old daughter because of the abuse by Samaritan Village and BRC,

"It could be Donald Trump".....A 9 foot wave took everything Patti had, evacuated by boat the night of the storm having to leave her German Shepard behind. Through no fault of hers, she is homeless, living in shelters with her 9 year old daughter and asking for a hand out on the A Train.

Four months to the day after Hurricane Sandy, She is part of a new diaspora made "suddenly homeless" living in a shelters, suffering abuse by her case management workers at Samaritan Village. Patti was a social worker and is stunned at how they are treating them. She worked and lived in Rockaway, she was a social worker and now she is homeless. This is a tragedy, shame on the system. She would be forgotten had I not heard her on the train. There are thousands more like her lost, sucked up by a broken system.
