Patrick Leahy -- Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee -- quickly refuted this statement. "I would disagree [with] one thing with Senator Hatch. In 17 months during Pres. Bush's first term with Democrats in control, we confirmed 100 of Pres. Bush's nominees. In 17 months, with the Republicans doing filibusters, of course we've confirmed far less of Pres. Obama's," said Leahy. As of April 15, 2002, 8 Bush Circuit Court nominees were confirmed. These waited an average of 6 days to be confirmed. As of April 15, 2010, 7 Obama Circuit Court nominees were confirmed. Obama's nominees waited an average of 124 days to be confirmed.
