Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA), Michael Bennet (D-CO), Al Franken (D-MN), and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) will be joined at a press conference on TUESDAY, October 17 by environmental, wildlife, and natural resources organizations to call for the removal of any language in the Fiscal Year 2018 Republican budget resolution that would allow for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. In April, Senators Markey and Bennet introduced legislation with 40 total U.S. Senators to designate the pristine Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as wilderness and protect the land from any future drilling.
