The Zimbabwe government also blocked access to social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter and the messaging service WhatsApp.
The MDC (Movement for Democratic Change) says Mr Mnangagwa, a former Mugabe ally, is now overseeing a return to authoritarian rule by using the same tactics.
