YouTube Description
as posted by the channelJoin Business Live as Germany has woken up to a big change this morning. The leader of the conservative CDU, Friedrich Merz, looks set to become the next Chancellor, as he gets to work in forming a new coalition government.
One thing hasn't changed though - the German economy. It may still be the biggest in Europe but it's shrinking. GDP was down 0.2 percent last year, and 0.3 percent in 2023.
Its motor industry is stalling, with competition from China and the threat of tariffs from Donald Trump.
So what can be done to turn it around?
