0:45Now PlayingIs Scripture leaving you fearful instead of set free? You are not the only one. So many of us open the Bible and come face to face with passages that seem harsh or confusing. But 2 Peter 1:20 reminds us, “No prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation.”
That means God never intended for us to read His Word alone, apart from the living voice of the Church He founded. Jesus didn’t just hand out Bibles—He established a Church, a body guided by the Holy Spirit to guard and interpret truth (1 Timothy 3:15).
When we read Scripture with the Church, something powerful happens. What once sounded like wrath begins to sound like love. What seemed like judgment reveals itself as mercy. Every hard word of correction becomes an invitation to conversion and deeper trust.
God’s Word is never meant to paralyze you with fear—it is meant to pierce the heart, to heal, and to set you free. When you bring your Bible to prayer, invite the same Spirit who inspired those words to illuminate them within you. Read with the Church. Listen with faith.
You will find a Father who loves you too much to leave you in sin. You will find a Savior whose justice is mercy in disguise. You will find peace. ✝️📖🔥
