Republicans Are Great at Tricking the White Working Class, How Do We Push Back?

The billionaires of the Republican Party are great at dividing the working class by pitting working white people against working people of color. Which means time and again white people are deluded into voting for billionaire tax breaks because they've been convinced that racial equality will mean less for them. (Hello Trumpism!) And of course Democrats sure aren't good at playing defense to this well-known strategy. So how can progressives divide whiteness? Author and labor organizer Bill Fletcher Jr. weighs in on what we can do to reverse this, and recalls his time working at a shipyard when bosses fired the Black and Latino workers for something everyone was doing. In order to fight back against bosses, he had to make the case to the white workers that when they stand up and stand with the workers of color, they will win. So how can we do that for the United States as a whole, given that so many white people have been falsely convinced that white billionaires give a damn whether they live or die...so long as they keep voting for them.
