Francesca Fiorentini is joined by writer, comedian, and person who dares to sit extremely close to her, Matt Lieb. They discuss Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s new book, “Persist,” in which Warren apparently discusses what she feels are some of the many mistakes she made during her 2020 run for president.
It’s refreshing to think that a politician might actually have some insight into their own personal failings, and Warren seems to be VERY REFRESHING. Good for her! She says that she failed to inspire (correct), that she didn’t explain how she would pay for universal healthcare (understatement), that Bernie’s amazing (what?!?! OK!), and even goes into her Native American heritage debacle (oh no). All right Elizabeth Warren! You had some failings, and you admit to them! Is this a scam to make us like you more for whatever cycle you plan to run for president again? It likely is! But that’s okay! Every politician should write a book about their dumb mistakes; we’ll take it.
Next up, co-creator of #BlackLivesMatter, HBIC of Black Futures Lab, podcast host, and author Alicia Garza joins the show and discusses her endorsement of Elizabeth Warren as a primary candidate, what she hopes to hear from Warren’s postmortem, and her hopes for movement postmortems.
