Trump Says Hitler “Did a Lot of Good Things”

According to a new book by Michael Bender, “Frankly, We Did Win This Election,” during a 2018 trip to Europe then-President Donald Trump repeatedly praised German Dictator and mass murderer Adolf Hitler, saying “Well, Hitler did a lot of good things.” I wonder what he’s referring to, since, according to the same book, Trump couldn’t even remember which countries were on which side during either World War 1 or World War 2.

Apparently, some of his staff, specifically White House Chief of Staff and former four-star general John Kelly, bRaVeLy corrected the record. Kelly told Trump that any short term economic gains that were made by the Nazi regime in the 1930’s were only temporary, and were vastly outweighed by the world war and subsequent destruction and partition of Germany. Trump, unsurprisingly, was not swayed by facts or logic.

The Trump presidency might be a turning point for how the American conservative movement views the most genocidal dictator since Genghis Khan. Let’s not forget Candace Owen’s infamous comments from 2019, where she told a group of British students, “If Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, okay, fine… The problem is that he wanted, he had dreams outside of Germany.” Yes, Hitler’s dreams were too big. That was the problem with Hitler. Sigh.
