3:03Now PlayingShould elderly Supreme Court Justices, who make up the liberal wing of the Supreme Court, retire during Biden’s first term so that we can guarantee they’re replaced by younger justices who will… live? You’d think that elite Democrats would’ve learned that lesson with the very timely and predictable death of RBG, but unfortunately it feels like history might be repeating itself.
A chorus of voices has risen, warning about that very thing, but leading Democrats don’t appear all that concerned. Not only that, but a number of “Stop Telling Bryer to Retire” op-eds and think-pieces have run in major newspapers and magazines across the country. Apparently, the feelings of this elderly Justice are much more important than the threat of an extremist right wing US Supreme Court. Over the past few months, we’ve gotten a taste of what that fully-empowered right wing Supreme Court might do when it starts flexing its muscles. Now imagine how much worse it will get if Democrats lose the White House in 2024, and/or Democrats lose the Senate in 2022, and Bryer dies soon after. Fun stuff. I mean whatever fun is allowed under the rule of Vanilla ISIS.
Justice Breyer was appointed to the Supreme Court by Bill Clinton in 1994. He is currently 82 years old, and has made every effort to show the country that he has no plans to retire. Why does this man believe that he needs to be on the Supreme Court, when we’re one badly timed heart attack away from an even more extremist court? Ego is one hell of a drug, I guess.
