Mamdani has been surging in the polls in the lead up to this election. The latest polling coming from Emerson has Zohran narrowly edging out known creepy Andrew Cuomo, thanks to NYC’s ranked choice voting. We haven’t seen a truly energized Democratic campaign like this since maybe Bernie’s runs in 2016 and 2020, and this is a mayoral race! And just like with Bernie in 2016 and 2020, the establishment Dems are losing their minds.
There has been an all out blitz to smear Zohran as being anti-semitic. AIPAC can’t be too happy with Mamdani’s popularity, so all of the sudden all these Islamophobic ads have come out against him. Even Stephen Colbert on The Late Show all but asked him if he condemns Hamas. The problem is, Zohran is so likeable and SO GOOD at handling this nonsense. Even Colbert couldn’t phase him.
No matter what, this race is far from over whether he wins tonight or not. If he does win, Cuomo will still likely run in the general election, along with his fellow disgraced politician Eric Adams. If he doesn’t win, Zohran could still run under the Working Families Party in the November general election. We still have a long road here, but no matter what, Zohran isn’t going anywhere but up!
