Trump’s Big Ugly Bill has been sent back to The House after spineless Republicans pushed it through. Will House Republicans steal our healthcare away to line their donor’s pockets?
Senate Republicans are actual cowards. You have little b*tches like Josh Hawley, who literally wrote op-eds calling to protect Medicaid, who still voted yes on this disgusting bill. Senator Lisa Murkowski got special carve outs for her state of Alaska in the bill to justify stabbing the rest of the country in the back. Well now it’s up to the cowardly Republicans in the House to finish the deed of ending Medicaid and SNAP benefits for millions of the most vulnerable Americans.
AOC took to the floor of Congress to point out how terrible this bill actually is. One thing Republicans point to as justification for their brutal cuts is the ending of taxes on tips. AOC shredded this and exposed it for what it really is. First off, there is a cap of $25,000, so anything over that would be taxed. Second, the Trump tax cuts that would be enshrined by this bill will raise taxes on everyone making $50,000 or less, which most tipped workers fall into. And the kicker here is that the devastating Medicaid and SNAP cuts will have a huge impact on those tipped workers. Not taxing tips is a drop in the bucket, a crumb to lure the masses off the scent of this utter betrayal of a bill.
