13:22Now PlayingZohran Mamdani has been absolutely crushing it in his first 100 days as mayor of New York City. And it’s pissing off all the right people!
Many of Zohran’s critics said that his promises were empty, and that he could never get anything done. Well we are 100 days into his administration, and boy is he making the haters eat their words. There’s the small stuff, like filling potholes and finally putting lids on trash cans to deal with NYC’s rats. But then they are the big promises, like taxing the rich.
Mamdani put out a video announcing a one time tax on 2nd homes in NYC. Unsurprisingly, the right is losing their absolute minds over this. The real question is, how long can Mamdani keep this winning streak up? In order to fund his bigger goals, he will need to either raise property taxes in NYC or raise taxes on the top earners in the city. He can’t do this without the city council or Kathy Hochul who are resisting his efforts. Will he fold, or will he start playing hard ball?
