7:04Now PlayingMove over, Elon Musk! There’s a new billionaire blowing up rockets instead of paying their taxes. Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin had a rocket explode in the most epic fashion. Glad he got to spend his money on that instead of funding public education.
Right now, billionaires like Jeff Bezos are paying nearly nothing in taxes. As a result, they keep getting richer and richer, while the rest of us struggle to survive. Well, now that a guy like Bezos has all these extra billions of dollars, he must be spending it on something worthwhile, right? Well, if your definition of worthwhile is blowing up rockets on the launch pad, you’re in luck!
Okay, so maybe we should tax Jeff Bezos more if this is how he is going to use all that money. Not so fast! Jeff has the perfect counter to that argument. In a recent appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Bezos said, “You could double the taxes I pay. And it's not going to help that teacher in Queens, I promise you.” I don’t know, Jeff. It kinda feels like that teacher in Queens paying a higher percentage in taxes than you is the problem.
