2:30:03Now PlayingPresident Biden, poised to leave office in just days, will give remarks Thursday afternoon at a Department of Defense Commander in Chief farewell ceremony.
His comments come on the heels of a ceasefire and hostage deal secured between Israel and Hamas amid its yearlong war in Gaza. Biden hailed the agreement, pointing to negotiations the U.S. helped broker last year, and announcing that Americans hostages would be released in the first phases of the deal.
President-elect Trump also took credit for the ceasefire, which Biden seemingly brushed off.
In the outgoing president’s final address from the Oval Office Wednesday evening, he touted accomplishments of his administration, pressed for a constitutional amendment barring presidential immunity and warned of a potential oligarchy forming in the U.S.
The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EST.
