The now-passed spending package includes a 2-week continuing resolution to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Democrats are seeking to rein in the agency after two U.S. citizens were shot and killed in Minnesota last month at the hands of federal immigration enforcement officials.
Jeffries and others in the lower chamber have also threatened impeachment proceedings against DHS Secretary Kristi Noem over the agency's tactics in enforcing Trump's robust deportation agenda.
