The hearing comes as the president's economic policies have struggled to gain traction amid mounting concerns over his tariff agenda and affordability ahead of the 2026 midterms. Trump, and his officials including Bessent, have largely rebuffed the criticism.
The Treasury chief on Wednesday also faced tense questioning from Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee.
It is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
