After a routing in 2015, the Liberal Democrats have languished as a minor party in the House of Commons, with the SNP enjoying the privileges of being the third largest party.
At the next election their positions could reverse. The Lib Dems’ position on Brexit would have a larger voice, and an SNP demotion would mean less prominence for Scotland and Scottish Independence.
