Fix the Train Wreck - Restore Integrity to Our Republic

As we emerge from the partisan mayhem maliciously stoked after the 2020 eleciton, we need to recognize how seriously the central institutions of our democracy have been battered, bruised and broken - and get to work quickly to restore the integrity and the guard rails of our Republic.

Four years of defiant, disruptive and divisive demagoguery by Donald Trump have inflicted a train wreck on the institutional structures of our government, which are now in need of intensive care and recovery.

We the People need to press Congress now to re-establish fairness and transparency and to bring the American Presidency back within the rule of law, based on the model set out by our Founding fathers:

--No soliciting or receiving support from foreign powers or other foreign interests - no funds, no hacking, no social media ad campaigns, no campaign dirt on opponents, no beneficial assistances of kind sought. discussed or welcomed by the candidate or his campaign team and its allies.

--no ownership or involvement in any commercial interest that does business with the government or receives revenues from the government or as a result of the president' action or activities.

--No ducking the requirement to release personal income tax returns;. Make it mandatory by law on Days 1, the day the candidate or his team start raising money to run for the White House..

--No Presidential pardoning of friends, family, the president himself or herself, business associates, political cronies, White House aides- anyone whose coverup, stonewalling or lying to investigators could protect the President and put him or her above the reach of the law;
