#065 | One & One & One is Three... | The Political Spotlight

Episode #065 again knocks out 3 interviews right in a row... the 15th, 16th, & 17th Candidate Interviews in the "2023 Candidate Interview Series".

Again, all 3 Candidates are from Winchester, Indiana... but this time it's 2 Democrats & a Libertarian! They might be from different parties but they are all running from a place of wanting to make Winchester BETTER than it currently is!

1st up, Bilbrey welcomes to the show, Hugh Coy Applegate, a Libertarian running for Winchester City Council District 1. Applegate is a married father, doing his best to live a quiet life in a small community... but what has been playing out in City Hall, for many years, just hasn't sat right with him, so he decided to run for Elected Office to try and do something to make it better!

2nd up, is Karen Joy Wilkins, a Democrat running for Winchester City Council District 2. Like most of all the other Winchester Candidates, Wilkins is a quiet citizen, just trying to make a life for her family in a wonderful community. Having an interest in the political process, however, she has wanted to serve her community to see what she can add to it! This is not her first time on the ballot in Winchester, but she's hoping this will be the one that puts her in the hot seat, but, what ideas does she have for the town, if, in fact... this is her time to win!?

And then, last but certainly not least... is a LONG TIME friend of Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey, Joan Ashley, a Democrat running for Winchester City Council District 4. Ashley is a bigger than life character... a fun and loving person to be around! But as ready as she is to have a good time and laugh and cut up... she is also someone that is ready to GET DOWN TO BUSINESS! And honestly, she hasn't been happy with the way the WHOLE CITY GOVERNMENT, has been doing business in Winchester, for a LONG TIME! Simply put... Ashley is running to serve the citizens of her District and the City, as a whole and help turn things around for Winchester!

From there, once the Candidate Interviews are done Bilbrey recounts a story about Mrs. Betty Ashley, the 89 year old mother of Joan Ashley (D)... its a story that would make the founding fathers proud and should give strength to ALL of those out fighting the good fight!
