In this brief excerpt, Beckwith answers a question about "The Ten Commandments in schools." To which he replies: "The Ten Commandments, I think, are appropriate to put in schools, and I would absolutely be for that. This is not about forcing somebody to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The government does not have the job, nor should it ever have the job, to force somebody into worshiping a certain way whatsoever. That is a non-negotiable. I tuned you out the moment you said 10 commandments in schools. So we're not a theocracy. I don't want a theocracy. We shouldn't be a theocracy. We are a constitutional republic rooted in Judeo-Christian principles. And that's the key right there."
