Beckwith Admits to Working on Prescott’s Property Tax Plan, While Braun Floundered With “Their” Plan

0:36Now PlayingIn the summer of 2024, the three campaigns running for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Indiana were getting hit from all sides regarding Indiana's out-of-control property tax situation! They were all asked one main question: WHAT IS YOUR PLAN TO DEAL WITH THE PROPERTY TAX SITUATION IN INDIANA?
Republicans Mike Braun and Micah Beckwith, Democrats Jennifer McCormick and Terry Goodin, and Libertarians Donald Rainwater and Tonya Hudson were all getting asked!
Straight away, McCormick said it wasn't as big of an issue as people were making it out to be — she quickly changed that tune and got to work on a plan!
Braun repeatedly said he would talk with the various local officials around the state and then put something together. However, he and his BIG MONEY MACHINE got to work on crafting a plan pretty quickly.
Rainwater, however, continued to tell people about the plan he has been pushing since 2020!
But then something strange happened!
On July 26, 2024, Braun went on 93.1 wibc (a radio station in Indianapolis), and he rolled out his BIG PLAN! He said things that his team then walked back just 3 days later! They had to return to the drawing board and start again. In the next few weeks, his campaign would release pieces and parts of a plan, then have to rework it — IT WAS A DISASTER!
Remember, Indiana is a supermajority Republican state. You would think the Republican Party and Officials would want to help Braun and Beckwith win! BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE!
Ten days after Braun unveiled his disaster of a plan on wibc, one of the biggest "Establishment Hacks" of the Republican Party, District 33's State Representative JD Prescott, went on the same radio program and released his OWN Property Tax Plan. And while his plan was also not very good, the fact that he did what he did was VERY STRANGE!
But it was the PERCEPTION of what was happening that is of interest!
With a major election just months away, you'd figure the Republican Party would be backing and supporting the TOP GUY ON THE BALLOT, helping him with his plan and trying to make it work so he could sell it to the people, which in turn would make those people want to get out and vote, and thus help him get elected!
Instead, they sent in "Establishment Hack" JD Prescott to present a second option to Braun's plan. From there, all hell broke out all over Indiana, as various State Representatives and State Senators openly discussed how they weren't supporting Braun or his plan. And they talked about not liking him as a candidate!
Hosts Kristopher H. Bilbrey and Brandon Rudd from The Political Spotlight discussed the possibility that Braun's running mate, Micah Beckwith, might be involved in the whole thing with State Representative JD Prescott.
And as far back as August 2024, Bilbrey and Rudd were talking about what a crazy thing that would be if it were, in fact, true! Link. . .
WELL, AFTER ALL THIS TIME, BILBREY HAD THE CHANCE TO ASK BECKWITH IF HE, IN FACT, DID WORK ON JD PRESCOTT'S PROPERTY TAX PLAN, AND AS YOU CAN HEAR IN THIS CLIP, THE ANSWER WAS YES, HE DID!
So now, the question becomes: WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON! THIS IS BIG DEAL!
Why would Prescott, his Establishment friends, bosses, and Braun's OWN running mate, Micah Beckwith, not work on Braun's plan? Why would they not try to make it the best they could? Instead, they worked on a second plan that had nothing to do with Braun or his campaign or helping him win the election, and they released it within days of Braun's plan. Then, just days after that, it was almost as if an orchestrated tour happened, where various Republican Establishment officials went out telling Indiana citizens that Braun's plan would not pass in the General Assembly!
ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION YET FOLKS? UP IS DOWN, RIGHT IS LEFT, AND NIGHT IS DAY!
