as posted by the channelThe Humanist Report's Mike Figueredo deleted his video covering "Professor Jiang" analysis on the Iran war after many fans in the progressive news scene noted his outrageous conspiracy theories and beliefs on other issues outside of the issue of Iran. "Professor Jiang" blew up after his predictive history video called "The Iran Trap" went viral during the 12 day war in the summer.
Breaking Points hosted Jiang on their channel, with a video that is so popular it rivals and beats some music videos from popular artists, with over 7 million views. Secular Talk covered a video on him as well, netting over 700,000 views on that video. Fans of Kyle Kulinski were dismayed at his content, with one fan even making a video detailing Jiang's crazy beliefs.
Mike Figueredo from the Humanist Report sent out this message to his fans: "UPDATE: I decided to take down today's video because I don't want to promote Professor Jiang. It's not that the information he presented was inaccurate (I brought in additional articles to supplement some of his claims I wanted to expand on), it's that he has some really f'd up views I wasn't aware of and isn't honest about his academic credentials. Some of you warned me about this in last night's Leftist Mafia chat, and now that I've had more time to look into him... yeah, this is not someone I want to promote on this channel, ever. I should've done my due diligence here but completely f up and am sorry for letting you all down."
His fans reacted very positively, noting that it was a sign that he has integrity. What do you think? Should Mike have deleted the video? It is clear that in these times it's important to be sure that the person you're promoting is a rational actor.
