Facing global uproar, Israel has pledged to implement daily humanitarian pauses in its genocidal blockade and bombardment to allow some aid into the Gaza Strip—but not nearly enough to reverse the catastrophic humanitarian crisis. “This is progress,” the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs noted in a July 27 statement, “but vast amounts of aid are needed to stave off famine and a catastrophic health crisis.”
