The White House recently hosted Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and several other progressive lawmakers to discuss issues like filibuster reform and minimum wage increases. This is a great move by the White House, but it could also be a complete farce. What matters now is whether the White House is going to listen to the progressives or to the centrists, who have also been given private audiences at the White House. Ronald Klain president Joe Biden's, chief of staff has met several times over the past two weeks with the progressive members of Congress. These include people like representative Alexandra, Ocasio, Cortez, Ayana Presley, um, who else was in this meeting? Jamaal, Bowman and 11. And of course, uh, Jaya Paul had actually met with Clayne last week. So you have had, which has gone largely unreported the white house chief of staff meeting with progressive members of Congress. So what are they talking about? Well, according to Politico, they're talking about things like the filibuster reforming that they're talking about increasing the minimum wage. These are good conversations with good people that I am very thrilled. The white house has having, as long as the white house, isn't just doing this to pay homage to the Progressive's, to try to keep them, you know, kind of placated a little bit like, Oh, well, they're meeting with progressive.

So I guess they're listening to us. Okay, cool. That's just step one is just step one. You gotta follow through and you gotta do step two, which is listen to them because without the listening to them, without the follow through step one is kind of pointless, right? I mean, it gives a good image out there for you, I guess, but in terms of doing anything productive, no. So let's wait and see if step two happens. I personally do think step two is going to happen. And here's why yesterday? Well, actually, no, it was Thursday when Joe Biden gave his press conference and he suddenly reversed his position on whether or not to get rid of the filibuster. And now we find out that in the two weeks, between when he said he would not abolish it and now he's open to abolishing it. And in the in-between time, he had been meeting with progressive members of Congress talking about the filibuster.

Okay. All right. Suddenly it does appear that these conversations might actually be having an impact on Joe Biden, the minimum wage one, maybe not so much, but there's lots of roadblocks over there as well. Obviously we have mansion and cinema putting up a major fight, but the white house has met with them. Uh, not much progress on that front, but at least they're now meeting with Progressive's too. That was one of my biggest complaints from the early days of this administration. And that is a wrong, that is apparently being righted. And as always that's progress, progress in that direction should be congratulated. So yes, I am happy with this development. No, I do not think it's all just for show. I think Biden's, you know, kind of, not quite a one 80, but at least a 90 degree shift on the filibuster. I think that's proof that these progressives do have a voice in this administration and they might actually be able to get a little change out of it too.
