3:36Now PlayingDonald Trump is more obsessed than ever with the 2020 election and his humiliating loss (which he still refuses to admit even happened) and his closest allies are now begging him to move on. But Trump is never going to move on, no matter how whiny and juvenile his constant rants about the election may seem. But his allies understand the damage that this is doing to the Republican brand, and Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what, exactly, that is.

According to former aides and current allies of former president Donald Trump, the former president is more so than ever obsessed with the 2020 election. And these allies claimed in interviews this week, speaking to CNN, that they're begging him to move on, to drop it, to let it go and focus only on policy as we move forward. Stop trying to rehash the 2020 election. Quit whining about it. You gotta move on. You know, it's like a really bad breakup when you think about it, right? Donald Trump is really still upset. Sitting there eating his ice cream in his underwear. So sad that America broke up with him. He doesn't know how he's going to get along without America. Well, guess what, time stop moking, moping around. Time to put on your big boy pants, his aides are telling him, and forget about it. Move on, find someone, something new. But Trump's not going to do it. And what's really great about this story is the fact that we predicted this.
I mean, I literally had been saying that Donald Trump for the rest of his life will never be able to let this go and I've been saying that since he lost the election. Every time the man speaks, he brings up the 2020 election, every single time. In every interview he's done, in every little impromptu speech he's given down at Mar-a-Lago, in the rallies that are going to be, that are going to be coming in June, he's going to talk about it there too. He is never going to let this break up go and part of it is because he is absolutely humiliated by the fact that he lost to Joe Biden. Now, to be honest, there was a good stretch of time, basically all the way up to the day after election day, when I thought that Donald Trump had a clear shot at beating Joe Biden, I really did. It would not have surprises me at all. Biden out of that entire Democratic field that we had really was one of the weaker candidates.
He did not perform well during the Democratic primary debates. He got attacked from both sides, you know, the, the, the progressive side and the more neoliberal side. But somehow the establishment coalesced around him. He won the nomination, then won the election. Handily defeated Donald Trump by millions and millions of votes, 7 million I think it was, 7 million vote difference. Trump lost, Trump got his butt handed to him. He lost traditionally red states, Georgia went blue, Arizona went blue, Nevada went blue. It was a humiliating defeat for Donald Trump and he will never live it down in his own brain. And that's why he's going to keep talking about it. So it doesn't matter how much aides beg him, how much his allies tell him it's actually hurting him and the Republican party, he's still gonna do it. Trump never listens to the advice of people who know better than him and we all know that. This is who he is, and this is what we're going to have to hear about until he's no longer able to speak anymore.
