New Poll Proves Democrats Can Easily Win Over Swing Voters

A new poll has found that support for Democrats among swing voters skyrockets when these voters learn that Democrats want to pass legislation providing paid leave for workers. The facts couldn't be any more clear: When you offer voters something that tangibly improves their quality of life, they become incredibly more likely to vote for you. A recent poll has revealed the Democrats can do this one weird trick to help secure victory in the 2022 midterms. And no it's actually not click baity. What Democrats can do, this poll says, is offer paid family and medical leave. Here's what the poll found. Democrats could gain a considerable advantage in the next election if they championed paid medical and family leave for all workers, which is supported by 84% of likely swing state voters, including 91% of undecided voters and 74% of Republicans, according to a poll released by paid leave for all action and global strategies group. There is currently in the works legislation by the Democrats, of course, that would provide paid family and medical leave for American workers. Right now we're one of the very few wealthy countries on the planet that do not already have this as a guarantee.

So why does this help the Democrats? Well, the poll answers that question for us too here. In the seven swing states polled, which include both states won by Trump and Biden in 2020 and are likely to decide control of the Senate in the midterms, 48% said they would prefer a generic Republican for an open Senate over 47%, who said they would prefer a generic Democrats. So Republicans have a one point advantage in these hypothetical match-ups. However, when the generic Democrat supports paid leave and the Republican opposes it, which has historically been the case, Republicans lose their one point advantage and support for a Democrat increases by 24% or 24 points, excuse me, among undecided voters support for a generic Democrat jumps by 46%.

So suddenly Republicans who have a one point edge, if they oppose this legislation and Democrats support it, boom, there's now a 24 point advantage for that Democrat. That sounds pretty easy to me, right? I mean, okay, now, now you know what to do, so do it. Because keep in mind, this poll here did not say if you pass it, it said if you support it, that's the key. Of course, I don't want any Democrats out there saying, oh no, no, I totally support it. Yeah, yeah. Vote for me. No, it has to be genuine and it has to be real. But what this poll proves is that voters actually like it when you give them something tangible and the Biden administration unfortunately has a real problem with that right now. They campaigned on student loan debt relief.

They campaigned on $2,000 stimulus checks. Yes, they said $2,000 checks, not two checks totaling 2000. And in some areas they've delivered and in other areas, most areas, they have not. We don't even have a public option at this point, let alone Medicare for All. Biden said public option was the way to go, expanding the affordable care act, but we haven't even seen any movement on that. So they've got a real problem. And of Course, a lot of the problems do come from the Republican obstruction in the Senate. I totally get that. A lot of it comes from obstruction from Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. But what these Democrats have to understand is that if they do not deliver tangibles for the American public, kiss the midterms goodbye. It's as simple as that and this poll proves it.

You have to give the people something to vote for, something in favor of something that helps them rather than just saying vote for me because Republicans are bad, that doesn't work and that is a stupid strategy.
