3:52Now PlayingFlorida Governor Ron DeSantis doesn't want Donald Trump to hold a rally in his state while he is still dealing with the tragic collapse of a condo complex in the town of Surfside. But Trump being Trump has refused to cancel the rally, even though bodies are still being pulled from the rubble. DeSantis has done a lot of bad things for Florida, but his request to Trump is actually a very smart move. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the state of Alabama had basically told Donald Trump thanks, but no thanks. We're going to need you to cancel your planned rally in our state because we don't want to get involved on 4th of July weekend of having big partisan political crap. Now they didn't use the word crap, but let's face it, it's crap. So his Alabama rally got canceled. And then he says, well, I've at least got this one scheduled for Florida. And even our Trump loving governor, Ron DeSantis, made an appeal to Trump and said, would you, would you mind canceling your Florida rally? We, uh, we really don't need that right now. And the reason Ron DeSantis is saying this to Trump right now, the guy that he basically owes is, you know, assent in politics to, is because right now in the state of Florida, we're still reeling from the tragedy of the Surfside condominium complex crumbling to the ground. They're literally still pulling bodies out of the rubble and even Ron DeSantis, a guy that I despise with every fiber of my being, even he has enough sense to understand this is at the time for partisan politics.
Okay. We have a tragedy. The president of the United States, Joe Biden, is coming down here. He's going to meet with the families. We're trying to get this sorted out. We're trying to get answers. We're trying to console and comfort the families who've lost loved ones. We're still trying to find people. Maybe now's not the best time for one of your MAGA hate rallies. But according to reports, the governor's pleas are falling upon deaf ears. Trump wants to move forward with his rally. He doesn't care that there's a crumbled building full of dead people. Nah, none of that matters to him. It's not his life. So why should he care? I mean, this is real sociopathic behavior here on Donald Trump's part. That's what we're seeing play out in real time here in the state of Florida. Trump only cares about himself and he wants to make it abundantly clear that he is the most important thing in the lives of his supporters. Doesn't matter that a building fell down. It doesn't matter anything else in this country, nothing, nothing.
He wants to go out there and tell these people the same exact things that he's been whining about for the last six months. That's exactly what it is going to be. Maybe he'd be more likely to cancel his Florida rally if Alabama hadn't canceled their rally, but we'll never know. But this is one of those weird and rare occurrences where I am going to agree with governor Ron DeSantis. Donald Trump needs to read the room here in the state of Florida. Even those of us who live in the state, but we're 400 or 500 miles away from it, yeah, it was still shocking. And makes us question what's happening in our own backyard here. There's beachfront property all over the state of Florida. Condos built exactly like the one down there in Surfside. And we're all looking at those right now wondering, is this next? What's going to happen? Are we safe? But again, Trump doesn't care about any of that. He just wants to walk into an auditorium, hear people yell his name, give him applause, tell him how great he is because that's the only thing in the world that matters to Donald Trump.
