3:37Now PlayingMitch McConnell says that he is "completely perplexed" about the fact that Republicans across the country are actively avoiding getting the COVID-19 vaccine, even as the country watches daily new infection rates continue to climb. Maybe Mitch needs to look at conservative media and in his own backyard of Republican lawmakers to find out why. A steady stream of misinformation and outright lies from these individuals is what is driving down GOP vaccination rates, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

This week, Mitch McConnell voiced his, uh, confusion. I guess you would call it as to why Republicans across the country just aren't going and getting that darn COVID. 19 vaccine McConnell said I'm perplexed by the reluctance of some to get vaccinated. Totally perplexed,
Totally perplexed Because apparently Mitch McConnell hasn't been paying attention ever since Joe Biden took over the white house. Maybe Mitch, McConnell's been a little too busy, obstructing decent legislation than to pay attention to his own party and realize that the reason Republicans are far more reluctant to get the vaccine than Democrats is because you essentially, at this point have a party that has made lies and misinformation. The only thing they can do, and you have Republican members of Congress who are out there actively lying about the vaccine every single day. You've got your Marjorie Taylor greens who repeatedly referred to, uh, uh, different types of, you know, COVID restrictions, COVID regulations and the vaccine comparing them to Nazi Germany and the Holocaust Lauren Bovert out there saying that, well, you know, don't have to get vaccinated and that you can't force them to do so other Republican's doing the same thing.
And then you have conservative media. That's doing all of those things to a far greater extent and to a much larger audience than even Marjorie Taylor green or Lauren Bovert have. And that's the big problem, Mitch. It's all of your party. It's there's one or two loons over here, or one craze network over here. It's all the networks. It's a lot of your people. It's all the little activists, you know, your Charlie Kirks and all those other idiots or Tomi Lahren, they're all pushing the same kind of misinformation. Somehow that vaccines are tyranny. I think one of them this week actually compared it to a partite, these pieces, people are too stupid to be given a microphone, but they've been given microphones and they're using it to convince people even stupider than they are, that they shouldn't get vaccinated. So there's your problem, Mitch. You shouldn't be completely perplexed by any of this.
And I love how you said by some people were food and good vaccines. It's not some people, dude, it's your party, your party. These are Republicans overwhelmingly Republicans. So maybe you should do something about that. I don't know. I mean, it's not like you're in a seat of power or anything in this country, right. You know exactly why Republicans are hesitating to get these vaccines or outright saying they're never going to get them. And it's because of the loonies that you have on your side that you have allowed to take over your party. That's why this is happening, Mitch. You've watched it for 20 years as it evolved and you sat and did nothing. And now you're dealing with the consequences.
