A shocking new report from The Miami Herald has revealed that the state of Florida has been doctoring the way they report COVID deaths to make it appear that the number of deaths is going down. Rather than reporting deaths as they are reported, the state is simply reporting deaths on the day that they occur. But because this takes time, the daily numbers appear to be going down but are re-adjusted back up as the deaths are confirmed - when people have already moved on. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

The state of Florida has miraculously only reported 46 COVID deaths over the previous week. So what happened? How did suddenly the worst state in the country go from these astronomical numbers, a few weeks ago, we had a day where we had 906 deaths, to now we just have 46 per week. Well, the answer came from a new Miami Herald investigation that revealed that after Florida had those huge number days, they decided to just change the way they reported the numbers to make it appear that Florida was on what they're calling a down slope and here's what they did. Previously, when someone died of COVID, it was reported on the day that the death certificate came out, that the death was confirmed to be from COVID. So if you died from COVID a week ago, for example, and it took them that long to process everything, your death would not be reported until the following week or whatever. So your death may have happened a week ago, but it would be reported today when the official numbers came out.

But what Florida did was they said, nope, from now on, we're going to report the deaths on the day that they happen, but we're not going to report them on the day that they happen until after all that time passes and everything processes. So on a day like today, we may only have 20 deaths because maybe that's what came through on this day. But a week from now, go back and look at today and they will have readjusted the number even higher because all the death certificates and everything would have come in and so they would go back and re-inflate the day the people died. Now, I hope I explained that clearly enough. The deaths in the state of Florida have not gone down. What our Republican controlled government is doing here is trying to make it appear that our daily numbers have gone down so that when everybody reports on them that day, oh, it looks like Florida's doing great. Okay, moving on. Then they'll report the next day and the next day. They're not going to go back. The media is not going to go back and check the readjusted numbers two weeks from now. And the Republican government down here knows that.

That's why they're engaging in what's being called a statistical sleight of hand. They're not necessarily covering up the deaths. They're not not reporting them. They're just changing the way they're doing it because they know that the public isn't paying attention. There is still a major crisis down here in the state of Florida. These idiot Republicans want to hide it so people don't realize how badly they're screwing this up and the public's just supposed to eat it up. And the is not going to follow through. This story needs more attention. People need to understand what's happening because I promise you if Florida successful with this other Republican controlled states are gonna follow suit. This is how patterns begin. You get your one little test case, which in this case is Florida, and if they're able to pull it off and fleece the public into thinking that everything okay, this is going to spread like wildfire to other Republican states. And even though people will keep dying, this little, you know, sleight of hand with the data is going to make it seem like things are a lot better than they actually are.
