Cori Bush Pushes For Republican Traitors To Be Expelled From Congress

Democratic Representative Cori Bush has not given up on her desire to see the Republicans who were involved in the events of January 6th - in any way - expelled from Congress for their actions. She has introduced legislation, which was co-sponsored by AOC - to do exactly that. This legislation is necessary, and shouldn't even be considered controversial considering the actions that were taken by some of these members of Congress. They betrayed the office and the country, and this cannot go unpunished. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Representative Cori Bush is still pushing for the members of Congress who have been implicated in the January 6th Stop the Steal rally, communications with the White House that day and possibly even the riot itself, calling for them to be expelled from Congress. Now, Cori Bush right now is obviously the loudest voice calling for this, but she is not alone. Representative AOC has co-sponsored the legislation that Bush has put forward calling for the expulsion of these members and there are how many, sorry, let me see if I can, 54. 54 other Democrats in the House that support this legislation. So not bad, right? And of course the legislation that Cori Bush has put forward doesn't just immediately say, hey, if we find out you were somehow involved, you're expelled. No. It's actually a well thought out reasonable piece of legislation that everyone could get onboard with, because it says, we're gonna investigate. We're gonna vet all of these claims.

And if it is determined that you were somehow involved in the planning of any of this, then we bring it for a vote for expulsion. Simple enough, right? And I think we owe it to the American public to do this. It, it's almost shocking to me that this resolution that Bush actually proposed many, many weeks ago, long before the recess still just sat there. This is common sense. If we have members of Congress that were involved in any way with attempting to overthrow the results of the 2020 election, they should not be a sitting member of Congress anymore. It's that simple. It really is. Trying to overthrow the duly elected government of the United States, which is what the Biden administration was at that point, they hadn't been sworn in, but they were elected. They were legitimate. So they were the incoming legitimate government. And we do know based on messages that have been revealed so far that certain members of Congress were in fact wanting to overturn that. Jim Jordan is one of 'em right there at the top of the list.

And of course there's other questions that also need to be answered. Why was Lauren Boebert live tweeting Nancy Pelosi's location during the actual riot itself? What happened with Lauren Boebert's, you know, late night tour of the Capitol when the Capitol was closed. Those are questions that I think actually a lot of people have forgotten about, but they still need to be answered. Right? We don't have answers to those questions. But Cori Bush's legislation would allow us to get those answers. And of course, if it comes out that any Republican or hell, even if any Democrat, even though it didn't happen, was involved in attempting to overthrow the election it makes it easier to expel them from office. I know Republicans don't want to go along with this. They don't wanna lose all these members. Republicans out there in America probably aren't happy with this either. But it is the right thing. If members of Congress are overthrowing the government or talking about it, or coming up with plans to do it, then they need to be held accountable because yeah, that's against the law here in the United States.
