Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has spent several days trolling Republican lawmakers online, asking them if they were among the group that sought Presidential pardons from Donald Trump. Cortez has targeted Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, and Marjorie Taylor Greene with her comments, as many other Democrats have also been proudly proclaiming that they never sought pardons. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Ever since the televised hearings that took place with the select committee on Thursday evening of last week. And of course continued, uh, this morning, Alexandria COIO Cortez has been doing a wonderful job of trolling Republicans on Twitter asking them if they were among the group of Republicans who asked Donald Trump for a pardon. Now, before we get into what she's doing to these folks on Twitter, which again, I absolutely love, uh, let's take a moment to remember that during Thursday, evening's hearing Liz Cheney said multiple Republicans had sought pardons from Donald Trump for their role in trying to overturn the election. The only one she named was Republican representative Scott Perry, who is the chair of the house freedom caucus, which is the most extreme Republicans in there. Uh, but they didn't name the others. Now plenty of reports have come out in the last couple days saying that, yes, they're totally gonna name the other ones.

We just have to wait and see who they're gonna be. So we're gonna get the names eventually. But until then, AOC is on Twitter asking individual Republicans, were you among them? And of course, calling out the absurdity of these Republicans who sought pardons, you know, basically trying to keep the idea in the heads of Americans, which of course is brilliant because that's what has to happen. So first she of course targeted Matt gates asking him, uh, Hey Matt gates, while I have you responding to my tweets, can you respond to one more for me? Did you ever ask Trump for a pardon? Let me know when the replies, you clearly know where the button is. Uh, he did not respond to her. So then she goes over to Lauren Bobert and says, Hey, quick question bobber. Did you ask for a pardon after tweeting the speaker's location on January 6th? And then she replies that with maybe your friend Marjorie Taylor green could answer. Did either of you seek a pardon? Just trying to clear some things up.

So yeah, I, I love it again. I absolutely love this. It's fun. It's funny. E and of course it keeps it in the public's mind that yes, multiple Republicans ask for pardons, whether or not any of these individuals that she has targeted, uh, whether they were among them remains to be seen. Um, so far though, I, I will say like out of the people who were scheming with Trump and his campaign and administration to overturn the election, these three names, you know, have not really come up. So, you know, yes, they're horrible people, but they may not be specifically involved in this scheme. Uh, we'll find out, we'll find out more names as this goes on. So we'll see what happens here, but it is also funny because AOC is not the only person, not the only democratic member of Congress. Who's on Twitter talking about this. Plenty of other Democrats have come out and said, I've never asked for a pardon. How about you? So the Democrats are doing a really good job of keeping this out there, keeping it on the forefront, reminding people that this happened and that it is of course,

Consciousness of guilt for those who did ask. So it's a good thing. Like I said, it's definitely funny, but more importantly, it serves a purpose to keep that very particularly weird talking point in the public's heads.
