Republican Rep Says She'd Shoot Her Grandkids To Protect Her Gun Rights

Republican Representative Debbie Lesko caused quite a stir this week when she said in a House speech that she would be willing, as a last resort, to shoot her own grandkids to protect her right to have a gun to protect her grandkids. This argument made absolutely no sense, but this is the kind of idiotic talking point that we are constantly forced to deal with in the ongoing debate over gun control. This week we heard what is without a doubt, the dumbest defense of guns here in the United States dumber than anything we have ever heard in my opinion. And of course it came from Republican representative, Debbie Lesco. I don't wanna spoil it in case you haven't seen it. So here is Debbie. Leko telling us how much she loves guns. And of course the disturbing length she will go to, to hang onto her guns. Here she is.

Thank you, representative. Uh, Jordan, I rise in opposition to HR 2377. I have five grandchildren. I would do anything, anything to protect my five grandchildren, including as a last resort, shooting them. If I had to, to protect the lives of my grandchildren, Democrat bills that we've heard this week, wanna take away my right, my right to protect my grandchildren. They wanna take away the rights of law, abiding citizens to protect their own children and grandchildren and wives and brothers and sisters.

I love guns so much. Me tell you, let me tell you how much I love them. I love my grandkids, but you know what I would do. I would shoot those grandkids. If it meant I got to keep my guns because apparently I love my guns more than I love my grandkids. I love guns so much that I'm willing to kill anyone to show you how much I love my guns more than I love literally anything else. Um, here's the thing. Jesus Christ. You miss Leko sound like you're a threat. Hey, let's be honest. You go to the floor of the house of representatives. Had you say that if you, if it came down to it, you don't wanna do it, but you're totally willing to shoot your grandkids.

You should never be allowed to see your grandkids again, but more importantly, you should never be allowed to own a gun. Uh, to me, that's a red flag. That's you out there saying, Hey, if it came down to it, if I had to choose between the kid and the gun, guess what? The kid's getting tossed off a cliff because I'm not losing this, uh, side piece I got here. This is insane. And it's people like this, like Debbie Leko who go to these ridiculous strawman arguments out there creating these mythical situations where she's shooting her own grandkids in her living room. It's because of idiots like this, that we can't have rational discussions about gun control in America, cuz she's not only forget killing her grandkids for a minute. I know it's hard to do, but forget, forget it for a second. She also was like, they're coming to take her guns.

They're not you. They're not, you're making that up. And when these people on the other side, just pull out of nowhere, it means we cannot have reasonable rational discussions about protecting the lives of innocent Americans who are getting slaughtered at parades. They're getting slaughtered in school, slaughtered in malls, slaughtered at concerts, slaughtered in church, slaughtered at the grocery store. Do I need to go on? And it's people like her, why we can't have real discussions about real solutions that a majority of the country actually supports. So instead we get idiots like Debbie Leko on the floor of the house, making stuff up about what the legislation actually does in telling us that she loves guns so much. She'd kill her grandkids to prove it.
