In what she called a "character building" exercise, Lara Trump - wife of Eric - had her young son to go on a walk with her during Hurricane Ian in south Florida this week, though she swears she thought it wasn't going to rain. The child is not only miserable and possibly crying, but he is complaining about the conditions and wanting to go back inside for safety. She just laughs as he pleads with her. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this incident.

So yesterday morning, Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump, posted a video on Instagram of her and her young son walking in the rain with the young son. Uh, looked like he was crying, not wanting to obviously be out in the rain. And before I show you the clip, let me provide a little context into how this clip was presented on Twitter. On Twitter. This clip was presented as Laura Trump is taking her young son out during the hurricane. So when I saw that, immediately watched the clip and I said, Okay, this is child abuse. That's actually what I tweeted out. But Laura actually provided a little more context on her Instagram page. So I'll give you that context in a moment. But here is the clip of Laura Trump that she filmed of her young son crying while having to be out during a storm. Here it is.

So on the surface, if you view that clip without any context, yeah, she looks like she's definitely not gonna be winning any Mother of the year awards anytime soon. But here's the caption that she put on Instagram. It said quote, thought we had a clear window. Turns out we did some character building instead. You know, because having a kid out in the cold rain where they're crying and not wanting to be there is definitely character building instead of teaching him to not steal money from children's charities like their dad did. But anyway, she makes it seem like obviously they were out for a morning walk and then boom, they got caught in a Florida thunderstorm happens to people every day in this state. So it's not an issue of child abuse, I say, But I am going to call this a moment of sheer stupidity on behalf of Laura Trump, because see what they're stuck in right there.

All that rain that's not just your average pops up outta nowhere. Florida thunderstorm and those who live here understand what I'm talking about. It could be a clear blue sky. One second, two seconds later, you've got a torrential downpour. What they were walking through, however, were the outer bands of Hurricane Ian. So I don't buy her excuse of, Oh, I thought we had a clear window here. And then boom. Suddenly Ray, the entire country has been watching this storm for days. They knew it was coming. You knew it was coming. There is no excuse for you to have taken your small child out for a walk when you knew things were about to turn horrible. That's the thing that I have an issue with now, now that I have the full context. And by the way, I had a lot of people on social media come out and tell me like, Uh, I love your word, but that's not a hurricane. Actually it is. I, I hate that I actually have to sit here and explain meteorology and of course geography to people. But let me go ahead and do that. Okay? As we know

Where Laura Trump lives, she was not in the direct path of Hurricane Ian. And I'm sure everybody watching the news yesterday realized that Hurricane Ian made landfall about middle of the day near Naples, Florida. So that's why people are saying, Well, this was in the morning. It didn't make landfall to middle of today. Do y'all know what make landfall means for a hurricane? As somebody who's been through almost 10 of them in my life, Let me tell ya, make landfall is when the eye wall hits the shore. You know how big Hurricane Ian was side to side cross?
