3:47Now PlayingAccording to a conservative columnist, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is planning on letting the MAGA conservatives in Congress go forward with all of the investigations that they want in order to keep them distracted by "shiny objects." There's no doubt that McCarthy is now on board with investigations, but the only problem with the columnist's analysis is that there's no mention of what he's distracting the MAGA freaks from. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why this claim makes no sense.

This week, conservative commentator, Amanda Carpenter, writing for the bull work, says that Kevin McCarthy is likely going to try to distract the MAGA wing of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives with shiny objects, should the Republicans take back the House of Representatives next month. Now, what she describes as the shiny objects, which by the way, she's not saying this is a good thing. She is, you know, criticizing them for this. But the shiny objects, of course, are the investigations, right? The impeachment of Biden that Marjorie Taylor Green says she's gonna try to do every week. So Kevin McCarthy months ago was like, No, we're not doing any of this. We're gonna legislate. But now McCarthy has changed his tune and says, Yep, yep. We'll go along with this. He actually did an op-ed not that long ago where he said, There's gonna be investigations. We're gonna investigate Hunter Biden. We're gonna look into whether or not he's a security threat to the United States is actually a story out this week saying Republicans want to investigate him as a security threat. But Kevin McCarthy did completely change his tune. He did a 180, and now he says, Yep, investigations, impeachment, whatever. Have at it mega wing, y'all do whatever. And Amanda Carpenter says this is to keep them occupied, to keep them acted. But there's a big problem with Amanda Carpenter's analysis of this.
Distracted from what?
Like keep them occupied so they don't do what, See, you kind of left out the biggest part of your analysis here, which is why do, why, why does McCarthy need to distract them? Like, what is McCarthy gonna be doing over here that he doesn't want them to see over here? Right. It's not a distraction if that's the entire agenda. And so I think you kind of either made a misstatement here, or you don't know what distraction means. Because yes, Kevin McCarthy is in fact going to let Republicans investigate whatever the hell they want. But that doesn't mean that Kevin McCarthy is gonna be legislating over here in secret and getting the Democrats and passing bills. That's not gonna happen. It's just not, because he would still need those same mag of freaks to support it. The only possible distraction I could see is that if Kevin McCarthy is letting these people do whatever the hell they want, so that they don't vote him out of his leadership position, because McCarthy stands to become the speaker of the house.
But if the Magel wing turns against him and they try to, you know, put one of their own up there, then we could end up, I'm not kidding you with, as terrifying as this sounds, with Jim Jordan as the speaker of the house, we could end up with Matt Gates as the speaker of the house. Terrifying scenarios that are very possible. So maybe Carpenter's trying to get at the fact that McCarthy knows if he plays ball with them, he gets to save his. If that's the case, then I do agree with that as well. But I don't think McCarthy's gonna be distracting them so he can secretly legislate. Right. I don't think he's gonna try to actually get things done for America. No, it's gonna be two years of nonstop investigations. Nonstop Impeachments and McCarthy's gonna let it happen because if he doesn't, we're gonna end up with someone even crazier being the speaker of the house.
