The political world received quite a shock on Monday when former Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway was spotted heading in to testify in front of the January 6th Committee. It wasn't known if she showed up voluntarily or if she had been subpoenaed, and the items discussed behind closed doors remain a secret. But with the Committee set to finalize their report in the coming weeks, testimony from someone as high up as Conway could prove devastating for Trump, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

The political world received quite a shock yesterday when a reporter got a video of Kelly Anne Conway and her lawyer walking into the January 6th committee. Now, Kelly and Conway and her lawyer went into the committee. This was in the morning, and at that point, nobody knew Kelly Anne Conway was coming in to talk. Nobody knew if she was there voluntarily or if she had been subpoenaed. Nobody knew why Kelly Anne was there, especially this late in the game. But then they went on break and Kelly Anne Conway came back. She didn't want to talk to reporters, but the one thing she did say was that she was there voluntarily and that there was no subpoena. So that makes it even more interesting, right? If you were subpoenaed, come in and talk to us by order of the law, that's one thing. But if they say, Hey, would you like to come talk to us, Kelly and Conway was like, you know what, yes, I would.

I would love to come and talk to you. Find folks on the January 6th committee. Now, even more interesting here, Kelly and Conway, of course, was no longer with the Trump administration on January 6th, right? She had left a long time before that, so she was not involved in any of that. She was gone before the election. So Kelly Ann Conway was not a part of the fake elector scheme as far as we know. She was not a part of the Trump White House during the capital riot. I'm sure she still has friends there. So she may have heard secondhand stories about what happened. So it does raise the question as to why Kelly and Conway would even be called by the January 6th committee. Now, I'm assuming, obviously they have good reason, right? They're not just gonna bring her in and be like, Hey, Kelly, in, tell us some, tell us some secrets here.

What do you got? No, they probably had some evidence that may have implicated her in knowledge, not in any criminal activity, but information that implicated her in knowledge of the events that transpired that day. So that is the most likely scenario. Of course, as I mentioned, Kelly Ann was very tight-lipped. All she said was that she was not subpoenaed. She's there voluntarily. So that's a big deal. But it also begs the question as to why bring her in this late in the game. I mean, the committee is already working on their final report, okay? It's in the draft stage. So I would think at this point that all interviews, all testimony would be finished because they're working on the final report, and then you have the little subcommittee they created that's determining whether or not to file, uh, criminal charges or a criminal referral for Donald Trump or anybody else. So why bring Kelly Ann in now? Something must have happened. They must

Have learned that she knew something or she volunteered that she knew something. We don't know which one it is. When she says she's there voluntarily, it could mean that the committee asked her to show up, and she did, or she reached out to them and said, I need to talk to you. Now, a lot of people obviously assume that Kelly Anne Conway is gonna go in there and defend Donald Trump, and that is a, that's a good likelihood, right? There's a strong possibility that's what happened. But we also know Kelly Anne Conway is not one to, uh, shy away from dishing the dirt on Donald Trump either when she thinks she's going to personally gain from it. So the testimony could have gone either way.
