Just three days shy of the second anniversary of the attack on the Capitol, the new Republican majority in Congress ceremoniously removed the metal detectors that were put in place after the insurrection. Lauren Boebert was exceptionally pleased with this, and she recorded a video of herself bragging about what was happening as the metal detectors were removed. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

So even though Republicans couldn't decide on a speaker of the house yesterday, they did make one decision with their new majority that, again, wasn't even sworn in yesterday. So I'm not sure how they had the authority to do this. But they removed the metal detectors that were put in place in Congress following the January 6th, 2021 insurrection. And as the metal detectors were being removed, Lauren Bobert went down there, made a little video of herself celebrating the removal of these safety measures. So here is Lauren Bobert bragging about removing these things that are designed to keep members of Congress safe. Take a look.

When I arrived in Congress two years ago, Nancy Ploy put this hump of garbage outside of the house chambers for members of Congress to go through. Today, they're being removed and we are turning Pelosi's house back into the People's House, Congress

Turning it back into the people's house, right? That that's what she says, or we're turning it back into the people's house. Okay, but what is, what does that have to do with metal detectors, right? I mean, PE people are still allowed to go in there. They just have to walk through a metal detector, you know, over the, uh, holiday break. We went down to Central Florida, went to Disney World, went to Universal Studios, went to Lego land. Do you know what all of those places have in common? When you walk into the door or before you walk in? Really? You have to go through a metal detector because they don't want anybody doing anything horrible at these amusement parks. So why is it that Lego land has better security than our United States Capitol building? The Capitol was actually attacked. There's never been an attack on Lego Land, and yet they are more strict with security than our Capitol.

And Lauren Bobert is out there bragging about it, boosting that we're removing these horrible things, these individuals, people like Lauren Bobert, these other Republicans who think we're removing these to turn it back into the people's house. These folks are nuts, right? I mean, that's what we're dealing with and this is how we have to treat them. We have to treat them like they are not rational thinking human beings, but are instead just a couple of screws loose. That's what we have. And the funniest part here to me is that Lauren Bobber, who's bragging on tape, as you saw about removing these metal detectors, she learned nothing from the fact that just a couple weeks ago, she was fighting for her political life, one reelection by the skin of her teeth, just a couple hundred votes, and she learned nothing. She goes right back to Congress. First day acts like a god dang lunatic. Once again, that's what we're dealing with with Lauren Bobber. So hopefully the Republicans in her district who have already said that she's an embarrassment, hopefully you're paying attention, because that wasn't, of course, the only scene that Lauren Bobert caused yesterday, and that was just her first day in this new Congress, folks, Colorado, in two years, you're gonna get to make this decision. Once again. Please don't screw it up. Next time.
