3:46Now PlayingAccording to former Trump administration staffer Miles Taylor's new book, Donald Trump was so angry that his staffers were leaking information to the press during his administration that he openly suggested tapping their phones to find the leakers. This is just another case of "every accusation is an admission" for Republicans, as Trump repeatedly whined (and lied) about Obama "tapping" his phones, which never actually happened. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this story.

You know, it seems like we can't even go a day or two anymore without hearing more news from a former staffer of Donald Trump that basically implicates the former president of the United States of engaging in illegal activity while he was president of the United States. The latest revelation came from Miles Taylor, who of course has his tell-all book coming out, uh, I think in just about a week from now. Um, and we've got a new revelation from that on top of the revelation that Trump wanted to have sex with his daughter and openly fantasized about it, and of course the threat of nuclear war with North Korea. But Taylor also says that while Trump was president, he openly suggested to his then chief of staff, John Kelly, that in order to stop the leaks from the administration, this was in 2018, they needed to tap all of the phones of the staffers in the White House. Donald Trump openly suggested and was hoping anybody would say yes to it, wire tapping his own employees to find out who's leaking to the press.
Now, as far as I know, cuz I've done you a little bit of searching on this, merely suggesting it even as the president of the United States, is not illegal, right? You can't convict somebody for something they didn't actually do. It's like if you say, you know what? Let's rob a bank, right? And then everybody says no. And you're like, all right, fine. We won't rob the bank. That's not illegal. But Trump was looking for someone, for anyone to tell him, yes, let's do it. And he would've done it like that. Folks, that's what makes the possibility of a second Trump administration so scary, because he will not put anyone in that cabinet. There will not be a single staffer in that White House that will tell him no during a second term. That's his goal. And it's not because they're afraid of him. It's because he will make dang sure that he only picks people that will tell him yes, no matter how stupid the idea is, no matter how crazy the idea is, no matter how illegal the idea is, Trump is going to make absolutely 100% sure that everybody he hires, everybody he puts in his cabinet will be a spineless yes person.
So if Trump walks up to them and says, let's put wire taps on all my employees, they will say, A I captain. Let's get it done before the end of the day for you. Even if they know it's illegal, they won't speak up. Those are the kinds of people that Donald Trump is going to put in his administration. If he gets back in. We should consider the first four years of Donald Trump the trial run, right? He knows all of the things not to do. Now he knows that he cannot deal with anybody who's gonna say, nah, I don't think that's a great idea. Nope, you're out. He knows that he only has to put in people that'll tell him yes, and that means a second Trump term could possibly be the most disastrous presidency that this country has ever seen.
