4:48Now PlayingDonald Trump's lawyers are begging Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon to somehow punish Jack Smith for allegedly "derailing" Donald Trump's presidential campaign. The order that they filed with the court specifically cites another prosecution against Trump (the one overseen by Judge Tanya Chutkan) where prosecutors asked for a January 2nd trial date. Judge Cannon has no control over that case or the prosecutors, and her ruling on this issue will be watched very closely, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump's lawyer submitted a filing in court last week to Judge Eileen Cannon, the Trump appointed judge, who's overseeing the documents case down in South Florida. But they have asked Judge Cannon to somehow, some way, please, because you're our ally, do what you can to punish special prosecutor Jack Smith. Because Judge Cannon, you're not gonna believe this, this is all in the filing, but Jack Smith actually told another judge in another case that you're not involved with in any way, he wants to do the trial on January 2nd and next year. So Judge Cannon, even though again, you're not involved in any of that, can you please punish this s o b for us? Do do something 'cause he is interfering with Donald Trump's campaign in a case that you are not involved in.
Now, I'm gonna read you what these lawyers put in this filing, and I'm gonna tell you that the Florida State Bar, if they have not already received complaints about the filing from these lawyers, and you're a lawyer out there watching this, please go ahead and file that complaint because these lawyers, 100% should be disbarred for what I am about to read to you. They filed this in federal court asking a judge down here to punish a prosecutor for requesting a trial date in a trial that she's not involved in. Listen, in its brief, in the DC case, the special counsel's office argues that a December jury selection in January 2nd, 2024, trial date before Judge Truken is appropriate with full knowledge of the schedules of both President Trump and his attorneys between now and the end of that year, nor the lease of which includes preparing for the May, 2024 trial before your Honor, president Trump opposes a January, 2024 trial date in the DC case for many of the same reasons articulated in President Trump's July 10th, 2023 brief to Your Honor, in which we responded to the government's revised scheduling order. Yada yada goes on to talk about other trials. The idiot has respectfully, the special counsel's conduct necessitates appropriate action by Your Honor, in addition to blatantly ignoring the court's scheduled evidentiary hearing on December 11th, 2023, the special counsel's actions appear to be intentionally motivated to prevent President Trump for meaningfully preparing for either trial and to simultaneously prevent 'em from running a campaign for president of the United States. Disbar these effing lawyers today like get, uh, owe my God.
Now, maybe I'm just a little bit extra angry today. I tell you I don't feel well at all, and that kind of is making me mad, but 100% file a complaint with the full a Florida State Bar,
File a complaint in the court system about the frivolity of this filing, get them sanctioned, make them pay millions in fines, and then disbar their asses. All of those things, by the way, are not farfetched to think that they could happen because they all three absolutely could happen because this is a filing where these lawyers who again, should no longer be lawyers in Florida because of what they're doing here, they are asking a federal judge to somehow punish a federal prosecutor for requesting a trial date in a different case, in a different jurisdiction with a different judge. You don't have the authority to do that, and you know that, which is why you should be sanctioned, fine and disbarred. This is utter insanity. I mean, I knew Trump's lawyers wer
