Donald Trump's fraud trial in New York started yesterday. And the trial, by the way, I was, because I've already had people like asking me like, oh, what's gonna happen? We have two months scheduled for this trial on the docket in New York. We are not gonna get resolutions to anything until December. So like temper expectations right now, 'cause we have a long, long way to go with a Thanksgiving break in between before we get any kind of serious resolution. Now, having said that, we're still gonna get little tidbits of information and fun little things coming here and there. And the start of the trial was no exception because Judge Arthur Eron, when he started the trial, had to remind everybody that neither party requested a jury trial. And the reason Judge Arthur Eron, of course, had to remind both sides of that is because Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed on social media that he's not getting fair treatment because he's not getting a jury trial.

And he's mad about it, he says, so the judge started the hearing by, or the trial by basically saying like, listen, just so everybody's aware, neither of you said you wanted a jury trial. And when I said it was gonna be a bench trial, which means only the judge, no jury, neither of y'all objected either Y'all were cool with it, you actually signed off on that. So maybe quit your. Now he didn't add that party should have, I would've loved it, but he didn't. But here's the funniest part, and this was something that I did not know had happened. As it turns out in the original filings, like in the early filings, like, Hey, we're gonna go to trial. This is what's gonna happen. Do you agree to these terms or do you not agree to these terms? There's apparently a box to check. And according to, lemme make sure I get everything correct here. According to Hugo Lowell, who's a columnist for The Guardian, two sources confirmed to him that it was Alina Haba who filled out the paperwork and forgot to check the box that they wanted a jury trial.

She forgot to check the box. So Donald Trump has been ranting and raving like a lunatic for months now about not getting a jury trial. And it turns out it's all because his lawyer is a frigging idiot. I mean, you gotta read every line of those, you know, filings of the, the paperwork they send you. You can't just skimm through it and be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. It's fine. No. Like, no. And Alina Haba, according to the sources, is the one who screwed that up for him. Now here's the thing. Somebody on social media in response to this information had actually asked like,

Well, can't he, you know, argue for a new trial, uh, based on, you know, basically incompetence of counsel? And if it were a criminal trial, yes he could. But because it is a civil trial, no, he cannot, which means Alina Habbas screwed up and there's nothing Trump can do about it. That is the best thing I've ever heard with any of Donald Trump's trials so far. That is amazing. It's amazing that this person, Alina Haba, somehow graduated law school. I would love to see those transcripts, by the way. Uh, and, and she passed the bar, like that's almost as shocking as her passing law school. So she messed up, Trump's paying the price and he's been mad about it for months and he's gonna continue to be mad about it and important to keep in mind. We had two months left and this is just what we're finding out on day one. This is gonna be fun.
