So it was Monday evening when Matt Gaetz introduced his motion to vacate the speakership, forcing Kevin McCarthy out as the Republican Speaker of the House. We all know that, of course, but what you may not know is that after Matt Gaetz got done introducing his little motion and going on his little diatribe, he was then laughed at on the house floor. Laughter erupted from the Democrats in the Chamber, and of course, the Democrats were laughing because this is all very, very stupid for the Republican party. I mean, at this point, you're 13 months away from a very crucial election. You've got real issues out there that voters care about, and Matt Gaetz is throwing a hissy fit because Kevin McCarthy didn't shut down the government over the weekend. So Matt Gaetz says he's gotta go, and the crowd erupted in laughter. Then of course, yesterday we got our vote, but none of it mattered. None of it mattered. The laughter, by the way, didn't even matter because Matt Gaetz, when he walked out of that chamber and stepped outside, he proved that he had already gotten everything he wanted. That photograph right there of Matt Gaetz cameras all around, microphones in his face. That is Matt Gaetz winning because that's all this man ever wanted. He wanted attention. He wanted the press, he wanted the publicity, he wanted all the love and admiration and all the hate that he gets because it doesn't matter. Good, bad, ugly, whatever. As long as people are talking about Matt Gaetz, as long as they're shoving cameras and microphones in his face, he won. He got exactly what he wanted, and what he wanted is attention. Maybe he didn't get enough of it growing up. I'm sure that psychiatrists would have a lot to say about Matt Gaetz's desire to constantly be in the spotlight. But I'm not here to do that. I'm just here to tell you that the vote didn't matter. Gates had already won. He's getting everything he wanted. He's in the headlines. You can't go a day without talking about him. I mean, I can't. It's obviously newsworthy, and that's all Gates ever wanted. Gates didn't want to be known as the guy who came to Washington, DC and you know, passed bills for his constituents. No, no, no, no, no. He wanted to be the guy

That everybody knew his name. That's it. Didn't care why they knew his name. He just wanted them to know who he is. Think about this for a second. When you think of Matt Gaetz, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Most people watching this, you're probably gonna say Venmo, or you're gonna say sex scandal, or you're gonna say, uh, underage girls, right? When you think of Bernie Sanders, you think 99%. When you think of Elizabeth Warren, you think of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. You think of a O C, you think Green New Deal, like there's lawmakers that when their name comes up, you immediately think of their issues and their legislation. Not with Matt Gaetz. With Matt Gaetz.
