3:56Now PlayingTrump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon blasted special prosecutor Jack Smith in a ruling this week because Smith has not provided classified documents for Trump's legal team to view as part of the discovery process. But just two weeks ago, Trump's lawyers informed the judge that they hadn't set up a secure facility yet, so Smith actually set one up - with the documents - in Washington, D.C. for them to use. Cannon even suspended the rest of the year's deadlines to accommodate Trump's legal team's failures, and even knowing that it was THEIR fault, she still blamed Smith. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Judge Eileen Cannon in South Florida, the Trump appointed judge who is overseeing the documents trial has decided that she is just no longer going to even pretend to be a neutral party in this case. And she issued a ruling this week, basically admonishing special prosecutor Jack Smith for the failures of Donald Trump's legal team. Let me say that again. Jack Smith, the special prosecutor, the guy who indicted Trump in the documents case, got in trouble for something that Trump's lawyers failed to do. Here's what happened. Jack Smith, knowing that recently, judge Cannon had to get rid of deadlines that she had set for the rest of this year because Donald Trump's lawyers, and this was a hearing about a week or two ago, I talked about it right here on this channel. Trump's lawyers go to Judge Cannon and they tell her like, Hey Judge, uh, we haven't set up the secure facility for Donald Trump to view the classified documents and the other evidence against him.
You said he can't take it to Mar-a-Lago. You told us back in July that we had to set up this facility. We've had three months. We just didn't do it. So Judge said, oh, I'm so sorry guys. That sucks for you. I'll just get rid of the deadline I'd set. And you take your time building the secure facility. So Jack Smith, after that ruling came down, said, okay, listen, you guys don't have a secure facility down here in Florida. I got secure facilities up here in dc. I'll set one up for you. So that way you can still have access to the documents and the discovery and the evidence, but you just, you gotta come to DC to do it though, because this is where I've got my facility. So I'm helping you out by doing this. I don't even have to do this, but I'm doing it. And Judge Cannon yesterday issued a ruling that said, how dare you, Jack Smith, how dare you set up a secure facility in another state that is unfair for them. These poor guys can't be expected to travel to DC every single time. They need to look at the evidence that facility's supposed to be here in Florida by God, and you are gonna make it happen.
Now, again, according to Judge Cannon's own ruling back in July, it's not Jack Smith's responsibility to set up that secure facility here in Florida. No, that is 100% the responsibility according to Judge Cannon's July ruling of Donald Trump's lawyers. And here she is getting mad at Jack Smith for trying to come up with a workaround for them that he didn't even have to come up with. Now he's in trouble. If you think this documents trial down in South Florida is going to be a fair trial, you are kidding yourself. Trump will get off. Trump is not going to be convicted in this case. It doesn't matter
The level of evidence we have against him. That doesn't matter. Judge Cannon has rigged the game and Trump will win. Hopefully the D O J will be able to appeal it, but I'm telling you, don't get your hopes up on this one. 'cause Judge Cannon is not just completely incompetent. She is also wholly corrupt. She admonished Jack Smith because of the failures of Trump's lawyers. You can't get any more corrupt than that.
