Former Trump Lawyer Says Trump Could Be Jailed For Social Media Post

Now, his former White House lawyer Ty Cobb says that posts like this - possibly even that post - could lead to the former president ending up in jail for violating the gag orders against him. Former White House lawyer under Donald Trump. Ty Cobb has told us recently that he believes that Donald Trump will be going to jail a lot sooner than most people think. And Ty Cobb, and this was about a week or two ago that he made those comments, says that Donald Trump will most likely end up in jail for violating the gag orders against him or violating the terms of his pretrial release. And then this week happened where Donald Trump, of course, got on truth social and reposted a fantasy from one of his supporters that said, quote, I would like to see Letitia James and Judge Geron placed under citizens' arrest for blatant election interference and harassment. Now, Trump didn't write it, but he reposted it. So in response to that, Ty Cobb in an interview after Trump had, you know, reposted it. Ty Cobb says this now after already saying, Trump's definitely going to jail.

But now Ty, Ty Cobb has this to say, I believe that at some point, comments like this will result in Trump not only being sanctioned, which will probably be the first order of business, but at some point, these types of comments will result in him being put in jail pending some of these trials. These are the types of incendiary attacks that do lead to violence. He specifically asked people to conduct a citizen's arrest. Detention of either James or Geron would be a crime if committed by any individual who was so motivated by the President's remarks, uh, much like he did on January 6th. It continues to be off the rails in terms of the extent to which his invective infects these proceedings. And by the way, has the potential to intimidate witnesses. So it's not just that Donald Trump is, you know, telling people, do a citizen's arrest, go, go get these people.

It's not just that, it's the act of doing this that sends a message to anybody else who may want to go and testify at that trial. Right? Maybe they have evidence, maybe they've been subpoenaed, but they're looking at what's happening to everybody else. You know, especially when you look down at Georgia, Jenna Ellis, Sidney Powell, they are getting slammed by the right, right now, like absolutely blistering attacks on those people. So you may have other witnesses who are looking at this and saying, whoa, whoa, I'm, I'm not gonna do that. I am not gonna willingly take a target and put it right on me. That's not smart. And that's what Trump is doing to everybody. So why would I want to go and testify? Why would I want to hand over this information? I'm putting myself in harm's way, so I'm just not gonna do it, or I'm gonna, you know, work with my lawyers to get out of it. That's what Trump is doing, and that's what he's been doing from the start with all

It's not just that he is putting the people currently involved in harm's way, it's that he's sending a message to anybody else who might be thinking about cooperating that this will happen to you. I will put out a call against you. I will start calling you out by name. I will have my supporters harass you until the end of time. If you don't want that, keep your mouth shut. That is the message that Donald Trump is sending out. And these judges have the ability to put an into it today if they wanted to today, they could do it. And we're beyond past time for them to actually get that done.
