Embattled Republican Representative Lauren Boebert is now blaming Hollywood actors - specifically, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds - for somehow "forcing" her out of her district because they gave money to her opponent. There have been plenty of instances of Hollywood stars donating money to Democrats in races where the Republican ultimately wins, and none of them had to switch districts or states to pull off a victory. Boebert is attempting to rewrite history and paint herself as a victim, but so far no one in Colorado is buying it, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

As we all know, Lauren Boebert last week made the announcement that she was switching and no longer going to run in Colorado's third district, and instead is going to run in Colorado's fourth district. Now, it's pretty obvious to every single person in this country, except of course, Boebert herself, why she made the switch. She made the switch because even before her Beetlejuice incident, she was losing to Democratic opponent, Adam Frisch, who she had only beaten by 546 votes last year, actually at this point, back in 2022. So Boebert decided to switch to the fourth district, which is far more conservative, and it's an open seat because it's currently held by Republican Ken Buck, who is retiring. She knew she couldn't win in the third district. She has a very tough Republican primary opponent who's raking in tons of cash too. So she said to hell with it, to hell with the third district.

I'm moving to the fourth. And during an interview with Steve Bannon this past weekend, Lauren Boebert said, it's not her fault she had to leave the third district, and instead she blamed it on Deadpool himself, actor Ryan Reynolds. Here is what Boebert told Steve Bannon. There has been close to $10 million poured into this district to buy this seat. Colorado's third district is not for sale. When you have Barbara Streisand coming in and donating to the Democrat, when you have Ryan Reynolds coming in and donating to the Democrat, it shows you that Hollywood is trying to buy their way into Congress. Yes, it is Barbara Streisand and Ryan Reynolds. That is the reason your career is going down the tubes, right, Lauren?

It's not because you were feeling up your boyfriend in the middle of a performance of Beetlejuice the musical, or that you were vaping there, or the fact that as recently as this last January after you were sworn in for your second term, the voters in the third district were already telling the media that they're sick of you and your antics, a sentiment that they expressed all throughout the year 2023. But no. Yeah, it's totally Ryan Reynolds. He is the one who did this with his big Hollywood money and Barbara Streisand and her Hollywood money. $10 million. Now, I have a point to make here, Lauren. You see when Beto O'Rourke was running against Ted Cruz for that Senate seat in Texas all those years ago, there was lots of Hollywood money flowing into that Texas race. Now, did Ted Cruz just quit? I mean, did Ted Cruz say, screw it, I'm not gonna run for senate in Texas. I'm gonna run for Senate in Florida.

Nope. He stayed in the race and he won. Same thing with Mitch McConnell. Tons of outside Hollywood money flowing in to unseat Mitch McConnell. Same thing with Lindsey Graham. None of them quit. All of them won. See, it's not about the money coming in from out of state, whether it's from a Hollywood actor or a small time person in a different state sending 10 bucks. That's not what wins or loses elections, the candidate does. You couldn't win in Colorado's third district anymore. You barely won last year, or again, 2022. Keep forgetting, it's now 2024. Either way, you left, not because of Ryan Reynolds, not because of Deadpool, or not because of any of the X-Men. You left because you are a loser, and you're not gonna have any better luck in the fourth district than you would've in the third.
