But times are changing, and the Republican Party's hardline stance against reproductive freedom is proving to be a massive loser for them, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Ordinarily, I would not sit here and talk about a special election for a State House seat in the state of Alabama, but I am, because what happened this week was nothing short of amazing for the 10th District in the Alabama State House, Northern Alabama, a Democrat by the name of Maryland Lands defeated a Republican, a Democrat defeated a Republican by more than 30 points in a red district in the deep red state of Alabama by running on a pro contraception, pro-choice platform. Every word that I just said should shock you. A Democrat should not have won in this district, even if they were running on cutting the taxes for the rich. A Democrat sure as hell shouldn't have won in this district talking about access to abortion and protecting in vitro fertilization.

But they did. I'm still in shock from this, and I'm glad it happened. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying she shouldn't have won, but this right here, this little microcosm of the state of Alabama is proof that all of that gloom and doom, you know, oh, Biden's polls are so bad, Democrats are not gonna pull it off. Oh dear. Oh me. Oh God. Uh oh. Democrats are winning in areas we shouldn't be winning, right? We saw this happen, uh, a couple months ago here in the state of Florida too, where a Democrat unseated a Republican in a deep red district. We have seen it in special elections all over the country. Democrats winning where they shouldn't be winning by running on a platform that we've thought for years immediately turned off Republican voters. Everything is defying the political consensus of wisdom, and that's a good thing.

It tells us that our old way of thinking is irrelevant Now, not maybe completely, don't get me wrong, but times are a change in folks and we have to change with them. But the times are changing because the voters are changing because the Republican party is changing. The Republican party is becoming more extreme. It's one thing to go out there for decades as Republicans did and campaign on, we're gonna get rid of all abortions and we're gonna get rid of all of these reproductive rights for women. And even the women conservative voters say, yeah, that's great, but it never actually happened, right? I mean, for 40 years we heard them running on this during every campaign, and they never actually did

It. And then they did it, and now Republicans are paying the price for it. Because once people understand what these restrictions mean, once they realize how oppressive it actually is, suddenly they wake up a little bit and realize, whoa, wait a minute, this actually kind of sucks. I don't like this. I don't like you anymore. I gotta go over here now. And that is what we are seeing. So don't sit there and tell me that Biden is gonna get slaughtered in November. It's just not happening in any race for the Democrats right now. They are. Do Democrats have overperformed in every single race since that Supreme Court took away women's rights, every race all across the country, even in deep red states here in the south? So don't tell me that November is gonna be a bloodbath for the Democratic Party because we are watching in real time and it just ain't happening.
