New Analysis Proves Trump Is WRONG About Legal Troubles Helping His Campaign

Donald Trump, and most of his allies, have insisted that his legal problems are going to make him MORE popular with voters this year. But according to a new analysis, that's not even close to happening. In addition to all the polls showing that a conviction will hurt him, even without a conviction he's seeing voters turn against him as the current trial continues. This is a bad trend for Trump who has seen his poll numbers continually shrink since the start of the year. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Donald Trump has maintained much like his lawyers and much like his allies in the conservative media and like even some members of Congress on the Republican side. But they all seem to be laboring under the delusion that Donald Trump's legal problems are somehow actually going to endear him more to American voters. I mean, just recently Donald Trump was out there saying, yeah, these trials, people are seeing how rigged it is against me, and they're coming over to me because they know that the same thing could happen to them. So is there any truth to that? Well, that is the question that, uh, CBS news wanted to get to the bottom of, right? Trump says it's gonna help him. His lawyers are saying it's gonna help him. Alina Habbas said it last week. Is it helping him? He's been there for two weeks. We can get some polls, we can analyze what's happening.

We can look at the trends CBS said, so CBS did their analysis of two weeks of Donald Trump in trial to just see how much these trials have helped this campaign. And the answer is they didn't. Not a bit, literally not at all. According to the analysis of all of the available polling data, if anything, since Donald Trump has been in that criminal trial in Manhattan, president Biden's poll numbers have actually gone up. So Trump's poll numbers have remained relatively static. So they're not necessarily hurting him at the moment, but he's definitely not getting helped by it. But Biden on the other hand, his polls have gone up. So everything that Donald Trump and his lawyers and his conservative media friends predicted isn't happening. In fact, eventually once more polling data comes out, we will start to see that the opposite is happening. 'cause a majority of people in this country believe that either Donald Trump definitely broke the law in New York with this trial, or he at least did something highly unethical.

They say in the polls, two thirds of the country believe those things. So you've only got one third of the country out there saying, no, he didn't do anything wrong. And we can all pretty much go ahead and figure out which side of the political aisle that one third of Americans is sitting on. Right? It's not on the left, it's not in the center. It's on the right. So Republicans who already refuse to believe that Donald Trump did something wrong, still do not believe he did something wrong. Everybody else is over here like, eh, kinda seems like he did it and I don't like it. And of course, roughly the same margin of people say that if he is convicted, it is completely disqualifying. So Trump can go out there and bluster all he wants. He can send out all the campaign emails he wants, thinking this

Is going to help him, thinking that as he said himself, he's going to be a modern day Nelson Mandela. But in reality, most people in this country like what they're seeing with this trial so far, they like that you are facing justice. They're not sad about it. They're not losing any sleep over it. If anything, they're relieved that you might finally get your comeuppance.
