Now specifically, she's talking about the Presidential Transition Act, which instructs candidates from major parties to join in memorandums of understanding with the current president as well as the General Services Administration. So staff may get their hands on relevant resources such as, uh, facilities, documents, executive branch employees, and national security information in the period between the election and the inauguration.

Those agreements also feature an ethics plan. Now, the reason this of course is important is one Trump's people need to be able to, unfortunately, I hate to say it, get their hands on what's happening in the world, right? The President of the United States, his staffers, his cabinet, they have information that the rest of us will never know about. But an incoming president does need to be able to know about those things because those are issues they will have to deal with. If you do not sign the pledge, if you do not sign this, you know, document, you can't get that. Which means most importantly, you can't prep. You can't be ready to take the reins on day one if you don't know what you're stepping into. So that, that's just a problem for the entire world, having a group of people who don't know what the hell they're walking into when they get the job.

But the more important part at the moment, of course, is the conflicts of interest. If they do not sign this pledge, if they do not disclose, then hey, we're not violating any laws, right? We're not telling you we won't have conflicts of interest. We're not telling you we won't profit off the presidency. We're actually making it clear that we're probably going to end up doing those things. That is what this is. That is what Elizabeth Warren is pointing out, is the corruption. Trump knows he's gonna make a ton of money off the office of the presidency. He knows that because he did it for four years. He is going to use this office to do whatever he can to put more money in

His pockets. And I guarantee you, plenty of the people he is stacking in his cabinet are looking at it the same way. And if they do not sign this ethics pledge, which again is required by law, then they're not actually violating the law when they profit off their offices. And that would of course be an issue for the next administration after Trump to take up. However, if they don't sign the pledge, right, I guess no harm, no foul because Trump's DOJ is not gonna go after these people for violating that law. So that's gonna be for forgiven. So here we are.
