Pete Hegseth, our new Secretary of Defense, has picked his buddy Sean Parnell to be his new Pentagon spokesperson. Parnell ran for office several times but failed to ever win due to horrific allegations that arose against him, with his ex-wife alleging in court that he physically abused her and their children. This sounds about right for a man like Hegseth who has also been accused of horrific behavior. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

Newly minted defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, has picked one of his good friends who actually worked at that, uh, charity with him, man, by the name of Sean Parnell, to be the new spokesperson of the Pentagon. And normally, you know, something like that, like, oh, okay, this is a story. He's picket his buddies, putting him in positions they probably shouldn't be in. It sucks, but what's the big deal, right? Well, let me tell you what the big deal is here. Mr. Parnell is not just somebody that helped Hegseth run those charities. That of course, you know, there was a lot of, uh, accusations of improper spending. But Parnell also happens to be a twice failed Republican candidate once for the house, once for the Senate, and he lost both of those campaigns. But that alone is also, okay. What's the story here? Well, getting to it, because those campaigns that he lost were due to the fact that abuse allegations were levied against him by his estranged ex-wife in court.

Here is what happened. According to the judge that oversaw these hearings, including the custody hearing, she talking about, Parnell's wife described many incidents. She provided factual details of each incident, including when they happened and what happened. She testified in a convincing manner. According to RA's story, Snell had testified in court that Parnell Snell being the, you know, ex-wife, that Parnell had repeatedly abused her and their children choking her and hitting one of their children so hard. He left a welt on the child's back. She said he once punched a closet door, which caused a bruise on one of their children's faces, and he then told the child it was their fault. She also testified that Parnell left her on the side of the road without a vehicle and told her to go get an abortion. Now, it is worth noting that these are just the allegations that were leveled against him in court. No charges were ever filed. Obviously, he was never convicted of any of this. These are just allegations by the ex-wife. However, the judge continued. He said that Snell's testimony was convincing while Parnell, on the other hand, was somewhat evasive and less believable. He was dressed very casually for his appearances in court, in blue jeans and untucked plaid shirts, which did not show respect for the seriousness of the occasion while testifying. He looked mainly in the direction of his attorneys and toward members of the news media in the back of the courtroom rather than at me. And of course, in his testimony, Parnell denied all of this,

But the judge said, I believe her. I don't believe you. And he, of course, granted Snell full custody of their children. So this guy who was accused of abuse of both the ex-wife and the children, lost custody of his children as a result of those allegations. Now has a sweet, sweet gig as the communications director for the Pentagon under Pete Hegseth, who lest we forget, was also accused of, uh, domestic abuse by both his ex-wife's sister. And his mother strongly hinted at that, in that letter that she wrote. And of course, they joined Donald Trump in the Trump administration, a man who has been accused of, uh, assault himself. Again, never convicted. None of these people have ever been convicted. But he's been accused of abuse. He's been accused of, uh, sexual misconduct. He's been accused of sexual harassment. He's a womanizer, a philander, all the horrible things. And of course, this is the Trump administration. If you've ever, I mean, at this point, God, I'm waiting for him to appoint Harvey Weinstein to something. If we're just taking all the horrible people in the world and putting 'em in this administration, it's insane. But this is your government in 2025.
