Last week, Donald Trump, of course, spoke in an event celebrating women's history, where he proudly and creepily proclaimed that he was gonna be the fertilization president. And he talked about the strong women he has in his administration. He bragged about having more women in his administration than any other president. Kind of sounds like DEI to me though, Donald. Right? I mean, you guys supposedly hate that. Hate it. To the point where at the same time you were talking to these women about how much you're gonna protect women. You talked about it all on the campaign trail, but at the same time you were doing this, doge canceled a contract from the National Institutes of Health that would've actually prevented domestic violence against pregnant women.

I'm pausing because I want that to sink into your heads right now. The Trump administration citing DEI, canceled a grant to research and help prevent domestic violence against pregnant women because, you know, that's just a little too woke for us. The National Institutes of Health grant funded a two year project to create a training program for early career clinicians to measure intimate partner violence in pregnancy. The leading cause of death among pregnant and postpartum women in the US is homicide by an abusive partner. Perinatal women are more than twice as likely to be murdered than to die from sepsis, hypertensive disorders, or hemorrhage. The grant was awarded last September after hundreds of hours of work from researchers, scientists, and other staff, including some NIH grant officers. Three of the four lead researchers told HuffPost the goal was to create a three-day hybrid training program for OBGYNs public health researchers and other clinicians across the country to help spot and measure the correlation between domestic violence and pregnancy.

Do we want pregnant women to get abused and murdered, or do we not? Apparently this administration said, you know what, we're okay with it. Right? Because they don't actually give a about women, and they sure as hell don't give a about babies, especially not unborn babies. Oh, they're fighting like hell to make sure women have these forced pregnancies. But then if your partner kills you, well, you know, that's just your fault, I guess. Right? This is a statement the administration released, uh, not the statement they released. This is actually the statement they sent to the NIH to cancel the contract, so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion. Characteristics, which harms the health of Americans. Therefore, it is the policy of NIH not to prioritize such research programs. They immediately terminated the grant instead of the standard protocol protocol to just suspend it temporarily because, quote, no modification of the project could align the project with agency priorities. So not letting pregnant women get murdered is definitely not a priority for this administration. Like, sorry, ladies, you're on your own. We're, we're not gonna do anything about it.
